Your Role and Responsibilities

This position resides in Markham, ON and is 12 months work term commencing in September 2022. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary studies at a post-secondary institutions and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work-term.

The North American Expertise Connect (EC) team is currently seeking candidates for the role of Technical Account Associate Intern. This role assists clients in the selection, implementation, and production support of application packaged solutions. TAMs use in-depth consulting skills, business knowledge, and packaged solution expertise to effectively integrate technology into the clients’ business environment to achieve client expected business results. In addition, you will help drive delivery to leading-edge technology in the Journey to Cloud, Openshift, Cloud Paks, Turbonomic, Instana and Watson Artificial Intelligent IT Operations (Watson AIOps)

Interns play a key role to:

  • Develop essential partnerships with customers by fulfilling a technical advisory role that enables customer to reach desired objectives with supported product(s) and optimize their ROI
  • Provide deep technical research, including debug and workarounds or other instructions to assist with troubleshooting.
  • Ensure the customer is aware of best practices, optimization and critical go forward information pertinent to their deployment
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of technical and management contacts to ensure thorough understanding of customer environments, requirements, problem symptoms, causes and resolutions.
  • Interact with support and development organizations while addressing problems. Escalate as required
  • Collaborate and coordinate the right players at the right times

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player and willing to learn, especially new technologies
  • Knowledge of Openshift, RedHat, Kubernetes, Azure, IBM Cloud, AWS, Microservices, Machine Learning and Data Science is an asset
  • Self-Motivated, with a deep commitment to our client’s success
  • Flexible, agile, and resilient
  • Must be eligible to work 12 months starting in September

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience developing client relationships and strong rapport.
  • Fundamental and/or strong knowledge in following technology & skills is an advantage. (Java, Shell scripting, Python, Kubernetes, Containers, Perl etc. )
  • Experience in the IBM Products: Cloud Paks, WebSphere Application Server, Tivoli Monitoring, Instana, Turbonomic, Watson AIOps.
  • System Administration level familiarity of multiple Unix flavors such as Linux, AIX, Solaris, HP-UX. Areas include performance tuning, configuration, file & directory security, using debugging tools.
  • Database and third-party product information is a plus
  • Understanding of the services environment
  • Technical troubleshooting experience/account management
  • Registered in a formal co-op/internship program
