To act as custodian of TransLink’s digital strategy with emphasis on opening new avenues of information, value-added products and customer service through electronic media.   Develops and delivers web-based media plans, tactics and solutions to address business needs across the enterprise.


Collaborates with the Manager, Marketing on translation of TransLink’s digital strategy into plans and tactics to effectively address business needs across the enterprise through electronic media.  Prepares reports on status of digital strategy development and ongoing delivery activities.  Assists the Manager with development and monitoring of operational and project budgets.

Liaises with all levels of management to identify and scope out business requirements and influence opportunities to leverage electronic media and the evolution of web-usage and related technology to support the goals of the organization.

Proactively delivers expertise to sponsors and leaders of capital and operating projects/initiatives with a view to defining the digital component to maximize customer information value.  Provides project management for the digital component from initial concept and business case through to implementation.

Provides guidance and input to IT resources regarding the design/build aspect of web-based media solutions, ensuring a clear understanding of the business requirements, and agreement on technical solutions that support the digital strategy, plans and tactics.

Leads and participates in development of digital content for all business areas across the enterprise.  Involves internal and external research and writing to generate the appropriate message and tone, ensuring business needs are addressed through web-based solution.

Maintains awareness of emerging trends and best practices in digital technology, and identifies potential application for the digital strategy. Proactively researches best practice, trends and methods to ensure optimum approach to electronic media development and implementation.

Provides the full scope of supervision to directly reporting staff and consultants including selection, development, mentoring and performance management collaborating with the Manager on the more critical issues.  Also may supervise the work of contractors where relevant.



The requirements for this job are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in a related discipline and four years of related experience in digital technology, including project management; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Advanced knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques pertaining to digital technology, and its application to customer service in a business context.

Solid business acumen to understand TransLink’s digital strategy and desired business outcomes.

Solid knowledge of TransLink’s strategic and operational priorities, including the policies, climate and culture.

Solid interpersonal and communications skills.

Solid planning and organizational skills

Solid project management skills

Solid problem solving and decision making skills

Solid research and analytical skills

Basic leadership and supervisory skills

Other Information

Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

Work Schedule

37.5 hours per week.

This is a full-time temporary position for 12 months.

Work Designation


This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.

Rate of Pay

Salary starting from $80,886 per annum

The Total Compensation Package includes Extended Health, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan upon eligibility.
