As Groundswell’s Technical Sales Copywriter you will create written promotional material that engages our target audiences and encourages the sale of Groundswell’s services. By definition you are a storyteller, able to create compelling copy across mediums with ease.

In this role, you will create integrated campaigns syndicated across Groundswell’s digital footprint – including our website, social media, eBlasts and eNewsletters, plus advertisements and brochures – with a strategic focus on keyword driven content marketing, search engine optimization (SEO) and website content management.

As a core part of the Marketing team, you will also work closely with our Functional, Technical, and People and Culture teams to create resources that sell people on working with Groundswell.

As a Technical Copywriter you bring to the table:

  • Creativity with an analytical edge. you are well-versed in Salesforce industry trends and also in identifying how content creation aligns with our overall sales goals.
  • Your audience tailored mindset ensures delivery of the clear and compelling copy, adhering to our style guide and established brand voice, for each of our technical and non-technical target audiences while maintaining strict attention to detail and copy editing (grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc).
  • You are comfortable doing primary and secondary research involving interviews, polls, surveys, conversations, etc. and ready to hit the ground running providing copy for all creative work including videography, photography, print, animation, etc. further aligned to the conversion points identified in Groundswell’s sales strategy.

How you will be impacting the success of Groundswell Cloud Solutions
In the first three months:

  • Understand Salesforce and Groundswell business landscape.
  • Build an understanding of our target market, product, competitive insights, brand style.
  • Understand and own Groundswell’s written content creation calendar.
  • Start building relationships with internal clients to understand specific industry data and insights to help in the development of campaigns and communications.
  • Build and maintain client aids that go beyond traditional documentation, such as online video, demos, guided tours, and other educational techniques.
    Internalize Groundswell’s briefs for concept. development needs, campaigns, or communications. This includes determining objective, target audiences, industry requirements and research.

By month six:

  • Develop, write and thoroughly proof marketing copy for the company website, landing pages, email campaigns, case studies, white papers, videos, infographics, and more.
  • Draft long-form blog articles that are optimized for humans and search engines alike and format content in WordPress for review and approval.
  • Conduct customer interviews to produce case studies and white papers.
  • Ensure content aligns with the strategy and is consistent with style guidelines as well as brand voice and tone.
  • Participate in the content creation and optimization processes in collaboration with marketing team members.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicate closely with internal stakeholders, and work in an agile environment.
  • Edit and proof work to ensure high editorial standards are met across all content outputs
  • Drive brand consistency across all company communications

6 months+:

  • Participate in content curation to refresh / rewrite / repurpose existing content to achieve marketing objectives and improve SEO.
  • Provide advice on the best approach to meet business objectives.
  • Plan priorities and adapt to changing demands and schedules.
  • Be well on your way to become ‘the written voice’ of our brand!

We want you to succeed, so you’ll need:

  • Experience working in a technical startup-minded company, preferably a SaaS company.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex concepts, and communicate the information in a way that is engaging and understood by users.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum software development teams.
  • Experience working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) both in-person and remote.
  • Ability to apply and prioritize marketing best practices as well as a meticulous eye for detail to all projects.
  • Experience using WordPress and other content management systems.
  • Experience working within brand standards and guidelines and the ability to distill complex concepts into effective and understandable content.
  • Skills and experience to think strategically, and contribute creative ideas and concepts.
  • Desire and ability to innovate and improve upon current processes.
  • A track record of effective collaboration.
  • A love for marketing and marketing technology. You have a deep respect for marketers and what it takes to really drive a business forward.

The above requirements would typically be met through completion of post-secondary education in journalism, English, communications, marketing or related discipline and several years of related experience.
